Quarterly Business Meeting - November 19
Carmel's Quarterly Business Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19 at 6:15pm in the Loft where we will hear from Carmel's committees and leadership teams. Presenters include the Elder and Deacon Selection Committees, the Nominating and Governance Committee regarding bylaw and governance revisions, and the Elder Body regarding strategic planning. At the meeting, the following will be presented as Deacon Fellowship and Lay Elder candidates: Dave Bachmann, Brian Baum, Justin Brown, Lawrence Denney, Victor Ferrari, John Hallenbeck, Rick Johnston, John Marus, Bob Mays, Mike Mullowney, Jeff Pacetti, Jonathan Schlottman, and Brian Staff. Don Spain and Andy Tarr will be presented as Lay Elder candidates.

- Pick up a list of donation items by ministry
- Drop off donation items
- Learn about additional prayer needs
- Purchase items made by women escaping human trafficking
- Join a ministry team
Women's Ministry Winter/Spring Bible Studies
Carmel's Women's Ministry invites you to join a Winter/Spring 2015 Bible study. Life in Christ requires taking time to study God's Word. There is transforming power when you study God's Word together in the context of community. Before the craziness of the holiday season begins, make it a priority to set aside time to become a follower of Christ by learning and living. Registration is open through Sunday, December 7! Albania Mission Trip
Carmel will send a team to Tirana, Albania, to work alongside the staff at Bethany Social Services from February 27 - March 7, 2015. Cost for the trip is $2,100. Bethany provides for orphans, as well as, abandoned women and children. The team is looking for nurturing caregivers, educators, and people who can lead crafts, music, and sports activities at two orphanages, one for children, ages 0-6, and the other ages 7-16. Journey Through Church History
Building on the biblical foundations of our Fall Journey Through the Bible Survey, this course traces the Church’s understanding of the Christian faith through history. Classes, offered at Carmel in partnership with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, will be on Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:30pm from January 21 – April 22. There is no cost for Carmel members. There is a charge for non-members and for all who take the class for credit. Registration will be available, online, beginning November 21.
VISTA Christmas Brunch - December 11

Christmas and the Queen City
Mark your calendars now for Christmas and the Queen City. This Christmas Season we will focus on the true story of Christmas - one of love, hope, redemption and relationship. Plan now to join us for the following:

- Advent Conspiracy Sermon Series: November 30 - December 21
- Christmas Eve Worship Services: December 24 at 2:00, 3:30, 5:00 and 6:30pm
Selah Christmas Concert
On Saturday, December 6, Selah will bring their beautiful harmonies and "modern" musical touch to the songs of Christmas and more! Joined by the Carmel band, choir and orchestra, Selah's concert promises to be a wonderful celebration of the coming of the Savior. Click here and look for the December 6 concert in Matthews, NC. Tickets are general admission and cost $10 per person plus a $1.60 processing fee. There is no childcare for this event or special ticket pricing for children.
2015 Carmel Mission Trips
Carmel is committed to making disciples of those Nearest, our Neighbors, and the Nations. Because of our mission, we encourage everyone to participate in missional living. One way to do that is by going to the Nations. Carmel is currently sponsoring 13 mission opportunities in 2015. High School Seniors and College Students are invited to attend Passion 2015 in Atlanta, January 2-4. Students from all across the nation will gather together in Atlanta to be united as one generation committed to the Gospel. At the heart of it all, Passion exists to see a generation stake their lives on what matters most. For us, that’s the fame of the One who rescues and restores, and the privilege we have to fully leverage our lives by amplifying His name in everything we do.
