FirstStep & Baptism
MAKING YOUR CHILD'S FAITH DECISION MEANINGFUL AND MEMORABLE TOGETHER!
Carmel believes that parents are the primary disciple makers and that making disciples at home should be the most important mission. The FirstStep class is a part of the strategy to equip parents to lead their child into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
First Step is an interactive, 4-week class for children in grades 2-6 (1st graders are welcome to register and attend starting January of their 1st grade year) and their parents, who are ready to follow Jesus as Savior. This is developed for families to explore and learn together and identify spiritual essentials such as: Who Jesus is, Faith and belief, Biblical Truth, Personal Sin, Repentance, Salvation, Baptism and Communion in a child friendly way.
FirstStep is a requirement before a child takes their First Step of obedience through baptism. We strongly recommend any child who has been baptized from a previous church take the First Step class as a new member's class so we all are on the same page.
First Step is only offered during certain months on Sunday mornings. To make the class interactive, class size is limited and preregistration is required.
We recommend that first graders wait until at least January of their 1st grade year to register for the FirstStep Class.
Registration is now open for the November 2020, class. The class will meet in person on Wednesdays, November 4, 11, and 18. In order to maintain social distancing within the class, we ask that only 1 parent attend the class with the child. The meeting time for in-person classes is 6:30-7:30pm at Carmel.
Parents will meet with CarmelKidz Pastor, Will Daniel, on Monday, November 23 at 7:30pm via Zoom class. Please note: this final Zoom call meeting is a requirement of the class. The link for the meeting is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/
We will send you a reminder of the Zoom meeting closer to the date.
