For Freedom Ministry
At Carmel, what we value represents what we are for as opposed to what we are against. Jesus said, “Whatever you have done for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have done unto me.” So Carmel is for the least of these!
Men for Justice Conference
Fighting Modern Day Slavery
Men, you are invited to an interactive forum designed to educate and empower you to fight modern day slavery – sex trafficking. You will learn about what this issue looks like, why it is so prevalent in Charlotte and how you can help put a stop to it. Carmel’s College and Young Adult Pastor, Justin Taylor is one of the speakers at the conference on May 7 and 14 at Forest Hill Church. To learn more go to www.foresthill.org/events.
Carmel is FOR Freedom!
There are people who have been overlooked in society, including those at the mercy of human trafficking. Human Trafficking is slavery! There are currently 27 million men, women and children trapped in it around the world - in brothels, in factories, in mines, on street corners, in homes. They are in the shadows; yet out in broad daylight - in plain sight here in America, even in Charlotte, North Carolina!
Therefore Carmel is for freedom! Freedom for the victim, freedom for the perpetrator and for all of us who require freedom in Christ to love the least of these well. We all need freedom, and “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1).
Right now, we have a group of Carmel members who are for the least of these and are praying for freedom. We are in the forming stages of a justice ministry that will seek God for what our role in this story will be. We are praying through a concrete plan that will give hands and feet to the burden we have in our hearts. If you would like to be a part of this story that God is writing in our homes, our city and around the world… join us!
