Joining God in doing His work
Our goal is for believers to put their faith into action by using their God-given gifts. We want everyone in the Carmel Family to develop and use their gifts to serve in two strategic places: in the church and in the world.
Not sure what God designed you to do? Under "In the Church" below, complete the Spiritual Gift Inventory to discover your gifts. Following that, fill out a SERVE brochure or the online form to note your interest. Click here to see how you can serve at Carmel.
In the Church...
Click on the Spiritual Gift Inventory and discover your spiritual gifts by answering the questions in the inventory and then press submit to find your areas of giftedness. This inventory is provided at ChurchGrowth.org and gives a good explanation of what spiritual gifts are all about.
Looking for your place of service at Carmel? One of our values at Carmel is GENERATIONAL INVESTMENT. You have the opportunity to impact the next generation by serving on Sunday morning in the Preschool, Children, or Student Ministry area. Click the link below to complete the interest form.
Looking to serve in another way in the church? Pick up a SERVE brochure at a Welcome Desk. It highlights areas of service where you can get involved. Once you fill out the form and drop it in the dropslot, you will be contacted by ministry leaders of the area(s) you checked who will tell you more about their ministry and how to get involved.
In the World...
Carmel is committed to being a Missional Church. In short, Missional = Equipped + Sent. This means it is the church’s responsibility to equip believers for the work of ministry and send them on mission. We believe that every member is called to be a missionary in his or her sphere of influence. We design our missional efforts to accomplish an Acts 1:8 strategy of reaching our Jerusalem (Charlotte/Matthews), our Judea and Samaria (North Carolina and America), and the ends of the earth (Global Missions).
Locally, Carmel's Global Outreach Committee and each of our Discipleship Communities partner with local organizations to engage in ongoing, relational, gospel-centered ministry. To begin serving, ask your Discipleship Community leaders about their partnership and let them know you are ready to help.
Globally, Carmel extends its resources beyond the local community by giving to international mission efforts and by sending hundred of people a year on short term mission trips. Carmel's Global Outreach Ministry coordinates these trips. To learn more about missions opportunities contact Diane McGee in the church office, 704-847-8575.
