Mosaic Ministry: Adoption & Foster Care

Mosaic is Carmel's response to the call to "take up the cause of the fatherless" (Isaiah 1:17). We desire to be the hands and feet of Christ that will defend the fatherless and bring family to the orphan in our Neighborhoods and the Nations while also supporting those Nearest in the orphan care process.

November is Orphan Awareness Month.

And throughout the month we invite you to learn, pray and help meet tangible needs in our community and around the world!

Pastor Alex's 2nd Tuesday Prayer this month will focus on orphan and foster children and families, as well as our partner ministries that serve them. Join in person (Uptown Auditorium) or online HERE at 7:00am on Tuesday, Nov 12.  A month-long prayer guide can be found HERE. And details on being an ongoing prayer partner with local ministry partner Congregations for Kids can be found HERE.

In Mecklenburg County, 500-600 children are in the foster care system, yet fewer than 60 families are currently licensed with Mecklenburg County.  Additionally, 30% of the county’s foster youth are sent outside of the county because of the lack of available local placement options - taking the youth away from all that is familiar. You can help change this! Sign up HERE to attend foster care orientation.

40+ youth are projected to age out of foster care this year with no one to support them in their transition to adulthood, leaving them at a higher risk for negative outcomes. You can help change this! Sign up HERE for Congregations For Kids' Weekend Miracles Mentor Orientation so you can serve older teens in foster care.

Attend: On Tuesday, Dec 3, Carmel is hosting Congregations For Kids’ We See You 2019 event. If you are thinking about fostering, are currently fostering, or are an adoptive parent, you're invited to attend! Details HERE.
Serve: If you want to love on families walking thru this journey, sign up HERE to be a Hospitality Volunteer at the We See You 2019 event on Tuesday, Dec 3!
