Charlotte Mission Trip

Charlotte Mission Trip 2016 from Carmel Students on Vimeo.

When most people consider going on a mission trip they instantly think about leaving their own city and going somewhere else. However, there is much work to be done right here in our own city that we love. We invite all 7th-8th grade students to be a part of the Charlotte Mission trip July 2-7, 2017.

We will join together with one of Carmel’s Neighbors Ministry Partners, Jackson Park Ministries, where will both serve and stay throughout the week. Jackson Park Ministries is unique in that the same road that serves those they minister to in their low-income housing, also serves as the road that leads to the entrance for private jets for the extremely wealthy of Charlotte.

Students will work with Jackson Park Ministries to share Christ through their summer camp program. Families are dependent on summer camp for child care and we get to lead their biggest ministry during the summer for a week. Students will be asked to take part in various stations throughout the day, such as crafts, sports, music, games, Bible story, etc. Students should also be prepared to give their testimony publicly at any time.

Students will also participate in their food pantry and pray with those receiving food. On Thursday night we will have the added benefit of working with teenagers and their siblings in their weekly  “Ball-Out” ministry. Serving at Jackson Park will be life-changing and incredibly rewarding.
