Kellie Spear, LMFT, LPCA
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Kellie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in North Carolina. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina. She graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling, her Bachelor’s Degree is in Social Work which she received from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Following graduate school internships at Carolinas Healthcare System and Five Stones Church, she worked at a private practice and later provided counseling at Five Stones Church where she was part of the ministry team.
Kellie enjoys working with individuals (ages 13 and up), couples, and families. She has experience working within a family systems framework to help navigate through anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life-stage transitions, parenting struggles, low self-esteem/core worth, and relationship challenges. Her theory of therapy is influenced by her relationship with God, life experiences, and her training as a counselor which includes an emphasis in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Attachment Theory. Her work with couples includes the use of the Prepare/Enrich assessment as a certified facilitator, as well as core concepts from Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Kellie has a passion for helping people find their inner strength as they journey towards healing and wholeness. She seeks to foster a relationship with her clients that is built on trust, openness, safety, and acceptance recognizing that it is often the first step that is the most difficult step to take on the journey towards healing.
Kellie lives in Waxhaw with her husband and their two daughters.
