This morning Pastor Will Daniel, our interim Children's Minister, shared from Hebrews 13:7-8. It reads, "Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
The way God has set up the passing on of the faith is from one generation to the next. We do that by spending time showing the next generation what faith looks like and how it impacts our whole existence.
For some, investing into the next generation may seem daunting. The main hesitations come from 2 challenges:
1. I don't know enough. (I'm not a good teacher). The scripture above says to "imitate their faith". This means that those that you are leading care more about how you live than what you say!
2. I don't understand these kids! Sure, culture changes by the minute. None of us can keep up with changing times. But, the scripture says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." You know Him and you can share Him!
To Discuss Today:
1. Who are the people who have invested into your life? Take time to thank them this week.
2. Who are you investing into? Who might mention your name as a disciple-maker 10 years from now?
