About Joy Prom
Joy Prom is a full-scale prom for the special needs individuals in our community. Formally attired guests arrive on the red carpet and are escorted by volunteers who help them with make-up, shoe shines and photo opportunities. A dessert buffet is served for all guests and is followed by an evening of dancing the night away with their friends. Each year, we seek to provide an enchanting evening for the guests while letting them know they are loved by Jesus and precious to Him. This evening is provided at no cost to our guests.
Carmel has hosted Joy Prom since 2005. In 2018, Carmel and Elevation Church collaborated to provide a unified and coordinated night of celebration. Once again this year Carmel will host Joy Prom and Elevation Church University City will host Tim Tebow's Night to Shine. To register as a guest for either Joy Prom or Night to Shine, visit the Queen City Prom webpage.
Beginning in 2020, Carmel will transition efforts away from Joy Prom to year-round Special Needs ministry. We are thrilled that Elevation Church will host an additional location of Night to Shine, which will provide a prom event for those who have previously attended Joy Prom.
