Pastor Alex began his walk with Christ when a friend in Elizabethtown, NC named John reached out to the “new guy” at East Bladen H.S. and shared the gospel with him. He was then discipled through the ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he ran track for two years. He met his wife Christy (Alexander) who grew up in Asheville while attending FCA. After graduation and a short stint as a youth pastor in Durham, they moved to Virginia Beach, Va. to attend seminary at Regent University.
After a long and beautiful season of pastoring in Katy, Texas, Pastor Alex joined the Carmel team as Senior Pastor in October of 2012.
His pastoral passions are…
shepherding and loving his wife and family
preaching the gospel
pouring into men to lead, love, and serve their families
equipping the church to ‘make disciples of those Nearest, our Neighbors, and the Nations.’
Alex and Christy have four children. Joy and Zach who live in Houston, Anna Grace who lives abroad and Lexi who live upstairs.
