The Porch: The Place to Connect
What Is The Porch?
We are so glad you are interested in both choosing Carmel as your church family and enriching your life in Christ! If you have questions about getting connected at Carmel, a relationship with Jesus Christ or baptism, please stop by The Porch in the Gathering Space (right outside the Worship Center) and a Carmel representative will help you with any of the above. Here are some questions to consider as you decide your next step:
New to Carmel? “The Bridge” is for you!
“The Bridge” is a Sunday morning class for those who are new to Carmel and are interested in learning more about the church, the Bible, and how to get more connected at Carmel. The class consists of eight sessions. Classes are scheduled for the following dates:
- October 22, 2017 - December 17, 2017
- January 7, 2018 - February 25, 2018

Have you connected to Christ as your Savior?
Everyone’s greatest need is the forgiveness of sin and restoration of a relationship with the one True God. Through Jesus Christ, God has provided the only way to salvation. By turning from sin and trusting in Christ, a person receives the gift from God of forgiveness and restoration of relationship. If you have questions about God’s offer of salvation, please see one of the volunteer at The Porch or contact us by email at .
Have you connected to Christ in community?
We were not created to walk alone in our Christian life. God designed us to connect with others and follow Christ together. One of the best ways to get connected at Carmel is through our Discipleship Communities (DCs). These groups, which meet on Sunday mornings, help equip you to live an abundant life in Christ. You can view a listing of our Discipleship Communities here, talk with a Carmel representative at The Porch or email for more information.
Have you identified with Christ in Baptism?
After you accept Christ as Savior, God wants you to grow in your relationship with Him. Following Jesus in believer's baptism is an important next step of identifying with Christ. For details on what we mean by Believer's Baptism, click here. If you would like to speak to someone about baptism, please visit The Porch to talk with a Carmel representative about your decision to be baptized or attend Baptism 101: this class that covers the biblical basics of baptism and how we practice baptism at Carmel. This class is for adults and students. We will meet on Sunday, October 29 at 11:00am in Room A243.
We celebrate the ordinance of baptism on the first Sunday of each month. If you are ready to be baptized and have spoken with a pastor or Carmel representative at The Porch, then you will be contacted by email with baptism registration information. If you have any questions please email us at .
