Wendy Skenderi, MA, LPCS, RPT-S
Licensed Professional Counselor
Wendy Skenderi is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner (TBRI) and is trained in Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) and Theraplay I. She is a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the North Carolina Branch of the Association for Play Therapy.
For 15 years, Wendy has been counseling children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couple, and family sessions on a variety of psychological, emotional, relational, behavioral, and spiritual issues. Her approach integrates proven psychological principles with a Biblical foundation. Wendy’s areas of expertise include early childhood trauma and attachment disorders, adoption and foster care, parenting, as well as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma and abuse. Currently, Wendy’s practice consists of working solely with parents and adoptive and foster families for general parenting issues, Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). As a licensed supervisor, she supervises North Carolina counselors seeking licensure as LPCs and play therapists for their registration as RPTs.
Wendy graduated summa cum laude with a Masters in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Chi, Scholastic Honor Society. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of the Pacific in California.
She has broad cross-cultural experience from living overseas, her involvement in missions, and her training work internationally. Wendy, her husband, and their two daughters make their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
