David Dixon, Ph.D., LPCS, BCPCC
Care and Counseling Pastor
In 2000 David was ordained and joined the pastoral team at Carmel Baptist Church as an Associate Pastor/Director of Counseling. David is a Licensed Professional Counselor –Supervisor in the state of North Carolina, and is a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor.
He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management. David completed his Ph.D. in Professional Counseling from the Center for Counseling and Family Studies at Liberty University. His dissertation was on Christian Spirituality and Marital Wellness.
At present, he also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Liberty University. At Liberty he teaches students in areas of Techniques and the Helping Relationship, Psychopathology, and Counseling Theory. David specializes in working with adults and adolescents on various life issues. This includes: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relational conflict, sexual addiction, parenting, marriage and family counseling, and issues of self-worth.
David and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Abby and Amelia.
