Our Roots

THE EARLY DAYS

In 1965, a group of members from Providence Baptist Church stepped out in faith to plant a new church a few miles away on Carmel Road to minister to families moving into this rapidly developing area of Charlotte.

OUR CURRENT CAMPUS

By 1987, 33 acres on Hwy 51 had been purchased and prayers were offered that God not just build buildings on this new land, but change lives and use those lives to build His kingdom in the Charlotte area and around the world.

Carmel means ‘garden’ - and true to our name we seek to be a body of Christ where the Gospel of Jesus Christ flourishes with lasting fruit.

In October of 2015, we celebrated 50 years of God at work in and through Carmel. Watch Pastor Alex, along with former senior pastors Dr. Don Bouldin and Dr. Wayne Poplin, teach at our 50th Celebration Service
