This milestone equips you\, as parents\, to know how to prepare your students for the world after High School – a world where they strive to live an ABLE life. A life where they Abide in Christ in order to Build relationships and Live out the Gospel with Everything they have! \n\nKey Concepts: Apologetics\, Dating/Marriage\, God’s Plan for Me\, Person of Influence\, Life Skills\, My Creed\nFocus: 11th – 12th grade\nMilestone Celebration: Launching with Purpose Dinner/Recognition\n\nParent Training \nAs primary disciple-makers we all need a little help launching our students into their next phase of life. That is why we host Launching with Purpose Parenting Workshop each spring. We cover details regarding our milestone celebrations\, practical tips on navigating this season\, along with providing you with a vision for the Young Adult Ministry here at Carmel. Plus\, you will learn about ways to celebrate this milestone as you participate with the community of parents that are on the same path as you. \nHow do we celebrate the Launching with Purpose Milestone at Carmel? \nThe graduation season filled with many mixed emotions. You have done your best to raise your child to be a follower of Jesus who loves the Lord with all their heart\, soul\, mind\, and strength. While you have made it this far\, it is still hard to watch that young man or woman walk out the door into a new stage of life. Our prayer is as they go\, they will walk out their faith as they live an ABLE life. To help you make the Launching with Purpose Milestone a special moment in the life of your family we invite you to participate in the following: \nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE PARENT TRAINING – SUNDAY MAY 3 AT 9:30AM OR 11:00AM \n\nLocation: Room SC303\nTime: 9:30am or 11:00am\n\nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE DINNER – FRIDAY\, MAY 15 FROM 6:00 – 8:00PM\n\nGather as a family to honor your graduate and intentionally speak blessing as you launch them into the next phase of life. Dinner will take place in the Worship Center at Carmel and will include a catered meal and program. The entire family is encouraged to be a part of this special time.\nIn addition to dinner\, we would like for each parent to write a letter of blessing to your graduate. Your blessing will mean so much to your student. We have included information that will help you do this on the following pages. You will have an opportunity to read this letter to your senior (privately) during our time together that night. We hope this will be the highlight of the night for you and your graduate. Each graduate will receive a gift from the Student Ministry during the evening. We also encourage you to ask friends and family to write letters of encouragement to give to your graduate during the evening as well.\n\nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE RECOGNITION – SUNDAY\, MAY 17 (ALL 3 SERVICES) \n\nPastor Alex and I will be recognizing and praying blessing over the graduates at the end of all three services. Graduates and their DC leaders will celebrate during the 9:30am DC time together as well.\n\nIt has been a privilege to watch your students grow and mature; we are going to miss them deeply. They are an incredible group of students! I look forward to celebrating the Milestone of High School Graduation together! \n\nWHAT WE NEED FROM YOU – BY APRIL 1\n\nRegister your Graduate for the Milestone Dinner and Graduate Recognition (please select ONLY your Graduate – you will be able to add family members as guests later in the form). DESCRIPTION:At Carmel we want to equip parents as primary disciple makers. As a result\, we have created a pathway for the beginning of Life in Christ that includes the 6 Milestones. For more information about the Milestone Path\, click here. \nWe want to invite you to a weekend of celebration (as well as a required class on Wednesday\, April 22 from 6:30 – 7:30pm). First\, we would like to invite your extended family to join you for a Dedication Brunch on Saturday\, May 9 from 9:30 to 11:00am where we will learn a bit more about what it means to become our children’s primary disciple-maker and commit to be intentional about teaching and training our children in the ways of the Lord. That morning will include a special time of dedication followed by a delicious breakfast as we celebrate together. The culmination of the “Dedicating my Family” milestone takes place on Sunday morning\, May 10 in one of our three worship services as you will make your commitment public before your church family. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \nIf you would like to participate click the button below for additional information and to register. DESCRIPTION:When: March 20 -22\, 2026 \nLocation: Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center in York\, SC \nWho: 8th Grade Students (school year 2025-26) \nRegistration/Cost: \n\nEarly Registration: January 1-31 – Total Cost $225 due Jan. 31. ***Enter EARLYBIRD for $25 instant discount at the time of registration***\nLate Registration: February 1-28 – Total Cost $250 due Feb. 28\n\n REGISTER FOR SURVIVOR  \n CARMEL WAIVER  \nThe shift from MS to HS is filled with pressure\, stress\, and demands from friends\, teachers\, coaches and parents who have expectations and difficult questions. During this weekend designed for 8th graders\, there will be fun challenges\, worship\, survival tips and time to hang out with friends. \nSurvivor has become a huge highlight for students as they walk the Milestone Path through the Student Ministry. We invite all 8th grade students to be a part of the Survivor 8th Grade Retreat. The retreat will take place at Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center in York\, SC and will last from 6:30pm on Friday to 1:00pm on Sunday. \nThe theme for the retreat is loosely based on the TV reality show\, “Survivor.” Students will be placed into tribes to take on challenges together\, be equipped through teaching to live an authentic faith\, engage in worship\, and be encouraged by building community together. \nAs the primary disciple-makers of your student\, we want to help you lead your student through the Survivor experience and make a commitment to living with integrity to culminate the studies from Discipleship Community. We would like for you to take part in all three of the following ways: \n\nParent Training – Sunday\, March 1 at 9:30am or 11:00am in the Student Center room SC303.\nSurvivor Experience – Join us Saturday\, March 21 at Survivor Retreat from 6:00pm – 10:00pm.\nWelcome Home Challenge – Sunday\, March 22 from 12:15pm – 1:00pm in the Main Gym. Students will arrive at 1:00pm.\n\nThe cost of Survivor includes meals\, lodging\, activities\, and a new soft leather Bible that you will get to give to your student as a gift after Survivor. You will receive your student’s Bible at the parent training March 1. When you register and enter the code EARLYBIRD by January 31 you will receive a $25 instant discount at the time of your registration making the total cost $225. Late registration runs until February 28 and is $250. \nIn addition to the retreat\, we will celebrate all of the students who have made a personal commitment to living with integrity in the Worship Services on Sunday\, April 19.  We have been working together for the last two years to get to this point and we are excited to celebrate this Milestone with you! \nSharing the experience of Survivor with your student will be something that you don’t want to miss. Families will learn how God has uniquely designed men and women\, and how we live out those roles. Our desire is to help our sons and daughters to embrace growing up into manhood or womanhood with a biblical mindset. \n\nKey Concepts: Biblical roles of men and women\, spiritual gifts\, spiritual disciplines\, service in the church and dealing with failure\nFocus: 9th – 10th grade students\nMilestone Celebration: Passage to Manhood/Womanhood\n\nParent Training \nAs primary disciple-makers we all need a little help learning how to pass on our faith and navigating our culture with a biblical worldview. That is why we host Stepping Into Adulthood Parenting Workshops each January. We discuss how God has uniquely designed men and women\, how we live out those roles\, and how to translate it to our sons and daughters to embrace growing up into manhood or womanhood with a biblical mindset. Plus\, you will learn about ways to celebrate this milestone as you participate with the community of parents that are on the same path as you. *The next Parent Trainings will be held in S201/202 on January 18 and in S303/304 on January 25\, 2026.  \nHow do we celebrate Stepping Into Adulthood Milestone at Carmel? \nRite of Passage ceremonies are deeply personal and different for every family. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore\, we walk alongside families to develop a unique celebration for their student at time and place that works best for the family. The key is to celebrate this Milestone in a special way will help make it memorable. This celebration can include a weekend trip\, a meal at their favorite restaurant\, doing a creative project\, a community gathering in the home\, the list could go on and on. DESCRIPTION:MAKING YOUR CHILD’S FAITH DECISION MEANINGFUL AND MEMORABLE TOGETHER! \nCarmel believes that parents are the primary disciple makers of their children and that making disciples at home should be a high priority. The First Steps classes are a part of the strategy to equip parents to lead their child into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. \n \nFirst Steps is an interactive\, 3-week class for children in grades 2-6 and their parents\, who are ready to follow Jesus as Savior. The 1st class is a parent only class offering parents an opportunity to engage with our CarmelKidz Minister\, Michelle Embry. \nFirst Steps has been developed for families to explore and learn together and identify spiritual foundations such as: who Jesus is\, faith and belief\, repentance\, salvation\, baptism and communion in a child friendly way. Children and parents should participate in First Steps before a child moves forward  with believer’s baptism. \nFirst Steps is offered throughout the school year on Sunday mornings.
