SUMMARY:Milestone 1: Dedicating My Family
DESCRIPTION:At Carmel we want to equip parents as primary disciple makers. As a result\, we have created a pathway for the beginning of Life in Christ that includes the 6 Milestones. For more information about the Milestone Path\, click here. \nWe want to invite you to a weekend of celebration (as well as a required class on Wednesday\, April 22 from 6:30 – 7:30pm). First\, we would like to invite your extended family to join you for a Dedication Brunch on Saturday\, May 9 from 9:30 to 11:00am where we will learn a bit more about what it means to become our children’s primary disciple-maker and commit to be intentional about teaching and training our children in the ways of the Lord. That morning will include a special time of dedication followed by a delicious breakfast as we celebrate together. The culmination of the “Dedicating my Family” milestone takes place on Sunday morning\, May 10 in one of our three worship services as you will make your commitment public before your church family. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. \nIf you would like to participate click the button below for additional information and to register. SUMMARY:Milestone 6: Launching with Purpose Graduation Celebration
DESCRIPTION:What is most important for your child after graduation? Are they ready to make an impact for the Kingdom of God? This milestone equips you\, as parents\, to know how to prepare your students for the world after High School – a world where they strive to live an ABLE life. A life where they Abide in Christ in order to Build relationships and Live out the Gospel with Everything they have! \n\nKey Concepts: Apologetics\, Dating/Marriage\, God’s Plan for Me\, Person of Influence\, Life Skills\, My Creed\nFocus: 11th – 12th grade\nMilestone Celebration: Launching with Purpose Dinner/Recognition\n\nParent Training \nAs primary disciple-makers we all need a little help launching our students into their next phase of life. That is why we host Launching with Purpose Parenting Workshop each spring. We cover details regarding our milestone celebrations\, practical tips on navigating this season\, along with providing you with a vision for the Young Adult Ministry here at Carmel. Plus\, you will learn about ways to celebrate this milestone as you participate with the community of parents that are on the same path as you. \nHow do we celebrate the Launching with Purpose Milestone at Carmel? \nThe graduation season filled with many mixed emotions. You have done your best to raise your child to be a follower of Jesus who loves the Lord with all their heart\, soul\, mind\, and strength. While you have made it this far\, it is still hard to watch that young man or woman walk out the door into a new stage of life. Our prayer is as they go\, they will walk out their faith as they live an ABLE life. To help you make the Launching with Purpose Milestone a special moment in the life of your family we invite you to participate in the following: \nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE PARENT TRAINING – SUNDAY MAY 3 AT 9:30AM OR 11:00AM \n\nLocation: Room SC303\nTime: 9:30am or 11:00am\n\nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE DINNER – FRIDAY\, MAY 15 FROM 6:00 – 8:00PM\n\nGather as a family to honor your graduate and intentionally speak blessing as you launch them into the next phase of life. Dinner will take place in the Worship Center at Carmel and will include a catered meal and program. The entire family is encouraged to be a part of this special time.\nIn addition to dinner\, we would like for each parent to write a letter of blessing to your graduate. Your blessing will mean so much to your student. We have included information that will help you do this on the following pages. You will have an opportunity to read this letter to your senior (privately) during our time together that night. We hope this will be the highlight of the night for you and your graduate. Each graduate will receive a gift from the Student Ministry during the evening. We also encourage you to ask friends and family to write letters of encouragement to give to your graduate during the evening as well.\n\nLAUNCHING WITH PURPOSE MILESTONE RECOGNITION – SUNDAY\, MAY 17 (ALL 3 SERVICES) \n\nPastor Alex and I will be recognizing and praying blessing over the graduates at the end of all three services. Graduates and their DC leaders will celebrate during the 9:30am DC time together as well.\n\nIt has been a privilege to watch your students grow and mature; we are going to miss them deeply. They are an incredible group of students! DESCRIPTION:Do you feel like our culture is trying to redefine expectations regarding adulthood? Biblically\, parents are called to equip their children to become men and women of God. Families will learn how God has uniquely designed men and women\, and how we live out those roles. Our desire is to help our sons and daughters to embrace growing up into manhood or womanhood with a biblical mindset. \n\nKey Concepts: Biblical roles of men and women\, spiritual gifts\, spiritual disciplines\, service in the church and dealing with failure\nFocus: 9th – 10th grade students\nMilestone Celebration: Passage to Manhood/Womanhood\n\nParent Training \nAs primary disciple-makers we all need a little help learning how to pass on our faith and navigating our culture with a biblical worldview. That is why we host Stepping Into Adulthood Parenting Workshops each January. We discuss how God has uniquely designed men and women\, how we live out those roles\, and how to translate it to our sons and daughters to embrace growing up into manhood or womanhood with a biblical mindset. Plus\, you will learn about ways to celebrate this milestone as you participate with the community of parents that are on the same path as you. *The next Parent Training will be in January 2026.  \nHow do we celebrate Stepping Into Adulthood Milestone at Carmel? \nRite of Passage ceremonies are deeply personal and different for every family. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore\, we walk alongside families to develop a unique celebration for their student at time and place that works best for the family. The key is to celebrate this Milestone in a special way will help make it memorable. This celebration can include a weekend trip\, a meal at their favorite restaurant\, doing a creative project\, a community gathering in the home\, the list could go on and on.
