Mosaic Ministry - Practical Ways To Get Involved

We are called to "Take up the cause of the fatherless" (Isaiah 1:17). Mosaic is Carmel's response to this call. Because this applies to us all, here are some practical ways you and your family can minister to the orphan:

  • Pray
  • Give to the Carmel Mosaic Adoption Fund
  • Take a meal to an adoptive family
  • Provide childcare for Mosaic meetings or special events
  • Grandparents can adopt a family in town who are away from extended family
  • Write a letter of encouragement and put it in an adoptive family's mailbox
  • Gather mini medical kits for families about to travel internationally
  • Provide transportation help for doctor’s appointments…this leads to a ministry of presence
  • Be sensitive to the unique needs of bonding and attachment
  • Respite Care
  • Help a family get ready for their home study
  • Provide legal help
  • Run errands for families who have just been united with their new child
  • Tutor an older child that is newly home
  • Use a personal blog to link some great websites to help children find homes
  • Knit baby blankets or sweaters
  • Host an orphan for the holidays or summer
  • Bring home a child on a student visa
  • Sponsor a child
  • Foster a child
