Our program is designed to meet the needs of the total child and includes activities that help the child grow in all areas of development. All teaching is centered around a “play-based” philosophy where children learn through experiential play with Biblical themes incorporated daily.
At WEE School, our desire is to grow well-rounded preschoolers who leave our program happy, confident, eager to learn and with a good self-image. That is what the preschool years are all about!
Missy has a passion for educating children and mentoring teachers, which makes her an excellent fit for the role of overseeing the lower level of WEE School (Birth - Twos) at Carmel. Prior to moving to Charlotte in 2013 with her husband, Bob, Missy was a middle school teacher and basketball coach in both Georgia and Texas public schools. While this mom of two girls goes by the title of Director of Birth - Twos, she will never relinquish her personal title of Georgia Bulldawg!
A South Florida native, Alexis joined the WEE School family as both a teacher and parent in 2010. Her years of experience teaching in both preschool and elementary classrooms and decade coaching all ages in swimming uniquely prepared Alexis to step into the role of Director of Threes-TK in 2016. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and being outside as much as possible! Alexis feels called to serve God’s kingdom by helping little ones become successful, life-long learners and Christ followers.
Our mission is to provide a Christian environment for preschoolers to learn and grow emotionally, cognitively, physically, socially and spiritually.
Carmel means “garden” and we live to sow seeds of gospel truth that, through Christ, can bear much fruit for God’s glory. As such, our vision is to partner with families to make disciples of the next generation.
