Our Curriculum covers nine basic concept areas: God, Jesus, the Bible, church, family, self, others, community, and the natural world.
In each classroom, our teachers use learning centers with intentional activities developed to enhance the topic of study. These centers include art, blocks, homeliving, music, nature, puzzles, and manipulatives. In addition to learning centers, teachers use conversations, stories, songs, and prayer thoughts to teach as preschoolers are actively involved in “doing!”
WEE Schoolers in 3’s-TK will attend WEE Worship each week to learn more about God, Jesus, and the Bible in a large group format. Students will hear a Bible lesson and enjoy a special interactive time of worship together. The goal is to have a fun time while learning about and sharing Jesus’ love for us!
Disguised as play, our STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) curriculum introduces WEE Schoolers in 3’s-TK to the world God created. We make big messes, we build structures out of boxes and water bottles, we launch rockets, and explore the “why’s, how’s and what if’s” of our world.
WEE Schoolers at every age have the opportunity to enjoy age focused music lessons with teachers trained in the music field. Children participate in singing, movement, musical games, and playing instruments!
WEE School provides a variety of experiences to teach students about our community and the world around us. In addition to special events like class parties, Family Night performances, Field Day, Bike Day and Water Day, we also have a variety of community partners visit our WEE School classrooms to talk to students about their role in our community. Some special visitors include the Charlotte Eagles, a local dental practice, the Matthews Fire Department and the Matthews Police Department.
