Many years ago, the Lord led Rachel to work as an assistant in a preschool special education classroom where she quickly developed a passion to work with all children with special needs. Then, the Lord opened up a door for her to pursue her master’s degree in Special Education at Missouri State University so she could gain a better understanding of the needs of these amazing children and how to help them grow. Very soon, she was teaching in an elementary school special education classroom and has been working with children of special needs in some capacity ever since. Now, Rachel enjoys caring for and building relationships with all of our friends and their families, equipping and encouraging leaders who faithfully serve with her, and creating curriculum for Sunday mornings in the Joy Ministry.
She absolutely loves being married to her best friend Ryan who is also on staff here as the Student Pastor and spending time with their two children, Adalyn and Brayden, and their dog, Penny. Together, they spend a lot of time outside, going for walks, reading, listening to music, and playing games.
