Carmel Preschool

Laying the Foundation for Your
Family’s Spiritual Journey

Carmel Preschool

We know that raising children is a huge responsibility, one that most people would say they feel ill equipped to face as they welcome a new baby into the world. Carmel Preschool Ministry desires to walk alongside families in these early years, from birth through the time they begin elementary school. We want to equip you to lay a biblical foundation for your home, help you find community with others who are walking this journey, and partner with you in teaching your children about Jesus in an age appropriate, engaging, interactive way.

  • Partner with parents
  • Equip with a plan
  • Support in community

Our goal is to teach the biblical narrative in an age-appropriate way. We tell “God’s Big Story.” Our hope is that as children learn the story of God, that they will come to love the God of the Story.

Your First Visit

Carmel’s Preschool Ministry is for children birth through kindergarten and classes are held at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00am on Sunday morning.

To provide the best experience for your family, we recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to allow time to complete the first-time check-in and get your child to their class.

Locating the Preschool Ministry

The Preschool Ministry is located to the left of the main entrance.

When you arrive at the main entry doors, head to the left. Near the end of the hallway you’ll see the Preschool Ministry on your right. Someone from the preschool ministry team will be glad to assist you in getting your child checked in and to their classroom.

FAQ’s

I’m nervous about dropping my child off. Will they be okay?

Whether it’s your first child or first time, it’s totally normal to feel this way and we understand! Our staff and team of friendly volunteers have completed a background check, been trained, and are excited to minister to you and your child in this way. At check-in, you’ll provide contact info should we need to reach you for any reason while they are in our care.

My child has a food allergy. How can I be sure they'll be safe during snack time?

We plan for this! We take allergies seriously and do our best to provide appropriate snacks for every child. When you register your child at check-in, please make sure to mention their allergy, and we’ll make sure to inform the teacher. *NOTE: Although we do NOT serve nuts on Sundays or Wednesdays, we are NOT a nut-free facility.

What happens if my child gets sick or upset?

Sometimes children get upset – that doesn’t bother us, though! We know your time at church is sacred. Our first option is to use good judgment and try to patiently comfort them when appropriate. If they don’t seem to be calming down or appear sick, then we’ll notify you through text message. Your child’s well-being is our top priority.

What will my child do on a Sunday morning?

Your child will take part in age-appropriate activities, games, singing and Bible lessons. For example:

  • Babies + Toddlers are lovingly cared for in classrooms where they can play with toys and enjoy age-appropriate Bible time, songs and activities.
  • 2 year olds play with toys in their classroom, take part in large-group worship where they sing and hear a Bible lesson just for them, go for a buggy ride and enjoy a snack.
  • 3’s-Kindergarten aged children begin with playing in their classrooms before joining together for an engaging large group time of singing and Bible lessons then return to their class and do lesson-based art, activities and have a snack.

Am I only allowed to bring my child for one hour on a Sunday?

We encourage your child to stay for two hours on a Sunday morning so that you, as their parents, can be encouraged and equipped to love and lead them throughout the week after taking part in a worship service AND connecting with others in a smaller group setting.
