Christmas Lights: Week 1

Physical light is necessary for physical life. We see this all around us in creation, especially with plants. We need sunlight too. We can also say that spiritual light is necessary for spiritual life. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. God IS light, and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). He is completely holy and perfectly perfect. Who you really believe God is, and what you really believe God is like will work itself out in the way that you live the Christian life. 1 Timothy 6:15-16 shows us that Jesus “dwells in unapproachable light” as He communes with God. Habakkuk 3:4 tells “His brightness was like the light; rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power.” BUT, because of the love and plan of the Father, Jesus came to us to be approachable and give us opportunity to be in relationship with the “unapproachable light” of the Father! Wow!
