CONSECRATE
The strength our our country is directly tied to the the strength of our churches, which is tied to the strength of our families, which is tied to the strength of our marriages, which is directly tied to the men and women that walk with Jesus. Pastor Alex challenged us this morning to look up and see the holiness of God Almighty. We need revival – a renewed interest in the Father after a period of indifference. Joel 1:14 says, “consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cray out to the LORD.
In Isaiah 6:1-4, we see a description of the LORD. The awe and wonder of a Holy Other God reminds us of who we are in light of who He is. We see throughout Scripture what men do when they see the holiness of God:
Isaiah goes to his knees
Moses hides his face
Joshua falls on his face
Job immediately repents
Ezekiel falls on his face
Paul falls on his face
Peter falls on his face
The Elders fall on their faces
Why? Because is is an all-consuming fire and full of awe. We are made in His image, but we are not like Him. We need to remember that although we call him friend, we need to stay in a spirit of reverence.
You are holy (1 Peter) because of your relationship and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. You are saints when you live out your holiness.
To Discuss Today
1. Use your imagination and discuss what it will be like to see Him face-to-face.
2. Meditate on the greatness and glory of God. LOOK UP this week.
3. Memorize Isaiah 6:3
4. MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Sept. 11 at 5pm for our Sacred Assembly.  Ask the Holy Spirit to begin preparing your heart.
