This week our Table Talk is written by Ryan Jackson, our Student Discipleship Pastor.

King Jesus and the Queen City

At Carmel we have defined a disciple as “a follower of Christ in learning and living.” As followers of Christ we are to take what we learn and put it into action. We are to carry the name of Jesus where we live, work and play.

Today Pastor Alex shared that God has a plan and purpose for each of us. Great news, you are right where you are purposed to be! The job you have is the job that has been purposed for you. Whatever you are doing is your calling. Here are some practical tips to live as a follower of Christ right where you are:

  1. Minister out of your calling.
  2. Minister together.
  3. Minister with clarity.
  4. Share the Gospel wherever you go.
  5. Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit every day.
  6. Stay dependent on the Holy Spirit.
  7. Pray for favor.
  8. Multiply yourself.

To discuss as a family today
1. Who are the people that God has entrusted you to lead?
2. 1 = 1million+. Discuss how your life has the potential to impact over 1 million people by sharing the Gospel in your daily activities.
3. What is required of you to be dependent on the Holy Spirit?
4. Describe ways that you can disciple someone?

Prayer
Father, thank you for your plan and purpose for my life. I will choose to worship you fully this week as I minister and share the Gospel where you have placed me. I confess that I cannot do it on my own. I ask for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to do this great work. I am fully dependent on you. Help me to see lost people and compel me to share the Gospel. I ask for favor in sharing the Gospel with my nearest and neighbors this week.
