John 4:23 says, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”
This week Pastor Alex asked the question, “How do we worship?” Jesus used a culturally volatile time to speak to the heart of worship with the Samaritan woman. As John 4 promises, WE are now the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we have the privilege to worship him whenever and wherever! We worship well when we worship with our heart, soul, and mind.
Questions to discuss with your family:
1. What does it mean to worship in Spirit and in Truth?
2. Are you “real” in your worship? Does your worship reflect your passions and emotions?
3. If obedience is the highest form of worship, what is one way you will worship with your walk this week?
Action:
As I was listening to Pastor Alex this morning, the song “Jesus Loves Me” came to mind. It is a great example of worshipping in Spirit and Truth.
Jesus loves me (Spirit – passion), this I know
For the Bible tells me so (Truth – mind)
Sing this song the next time you are in the car and reflect on the Truth of God’s love for you. Let it spur you on to worship with your walk!
