Carmel Counseling Center is a place of hope and healing. We provide professional counseling from a biblical worldview which values people in light of the Gospel story. We offer a holistic approach which focuses on the emotional, physical and spiritual well being of a person. Our services include play therapy, occupational therapy, couples and individual therapy.

GET STARTED

NEW OPPORTUNITY – OASIS OF GRACE: We are excited to announce a teen parenting group, Oasis of Grace, led by Carmel Counseling Center’s Rebekah Schlottman, LCMHC and Vinita Simmons, LCMHCA. This will be a safe space to learn and to connect as a parent of teens. This six-week group is from 6:00-7:30 pm beginning February 11, 2025 and meets weekly on Tuesdays through March 18, 2025.

The six sessions will cover:

  • Knowing Your Teen – Teen Development & Identity
  • Listening Well – How to Connect More Deeply with Your Teen
  • Talking Well – How to Talk with Your Teen
  • Fighting Fair – Successful Conflict with Your Teen

About

Since 1991, Carmel Counseling Center, a ministry of Carmel Baptist Church, has been providing professional counseling services to its members and surrounding community. Our therapists are trained to help concerns including distressed marriages, abuse, trauma, emotional dysregulation in children, and children with sensory processing difficulties.

Our philosophy at CCC is to provide professional mental health counseling that is Christ-centered. Our clinicians specialize in the integration of one’s Christian faith and the best practices of psychology in pursuit of a healthy, whole person: emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Fees

  • Masters Level Associates in Counseling (LCMHCA, LCSWA)  $125.00 per 45/55 minute session
  • Masters Level Fully Licensed Counselor and Occupational Therapists (LCMHC, OTR/L) $140.00 per 45/55 minute session
  • Ph.D in Counseling or Psychology $150.00 per 45/55 minute session

Payments

  • Credit, Debit, FSA and HSA cards are accepted through the client portal
  • Checks should be made out to the Carmel Counseling Center

Insurance

  • CCC is not in network with any insurance company
  • Documentation is available for clients who are filing for an out-of-network reimbursement with their insurance company.

Children

Play Therapy

Children often struggle through developmental stages, which can be painful for parents to navigate. Play therapy is a research-based counseling modality tool for children and a powerful tool for addressing cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges within children. Occupational Therapy

Pediatric Occupational Therapy supports the development of children experiencing delays in crucial day-to-day skills, from holding a pencil to self-feeding. Occupational therapists work on many developmental areas, including gross and fine motor, visual motor, praxis, and sensory processing skills. Carmel Counseling Center offers Occupational Therapy services aimed at empowering children to navigate their environment more independently in activities like learning, play, dressing, and school readiness.

Teens

For teens, learning how to manage friendships, emotions, social media, and their sense of identity has become complicated.  Parents find it difficult to build relationships with their teen children and often feel hopeless. Teenagers can often feel depressed, anxious, and misunderstood. CCC has licensed mental health professionals that are trained in parental coaching as well as helping teenagers learn to manage the complexities of their world.

It is not uncommon for individuals to experience feelings of sadness, anxiety, confusion and even isolation from friends and family.  CCC has licensed mental health counselors that are trained in assessing issues of mental health, as well as helping individuals and couples move toward healing through the counseling process.

FAQ’s

What are your fees and do you take insurance?

Fees at CCC are $120.00 an hour and are due at the time of service. We use an electronic billing and notes system that is easy, convenient, and HIPAA-compliant. CCC does not take insurance but clients can receive a receipt to file out-of-network for reimbursement with their insurance company.

What is your cancellation policy?

To reschedule or cancel your appointment and not be responsible for your session fee:

Notify your counselor directly and leave a message of cancellation.

  • At least 24 hours prior to the appointment, call 704-849-0686.
  • Listen for the Directory of Counselors in the Greeting Prompts to find your counselor’s extension number.

Are counseling sessions confidential?

All counseling is held in strict confidence between the client and counselor. The only exception to this policy occurs in the event of imminent danger (suicidal and/or homicidal threat and/or suspected child abuse). In such instances, proper help will be sought. All other outside consultations will require signed consent from the client.

Do you offer virtual counseling?

All therapists at CCC offer virtual counseling services for NC residents.  There are some limitations to virtual counseling services depending on what type of treatment a client is looking for.
