Over a quarter of a million pounds of donated supplies were flown and driven into hard hit areas by our ministry partners in the first 8 days of response. We are deeply grateful for all who jumped in to provide for needs and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the face of so much devastation.
You can continue to support the ongoing efforts by giving through our Disaster Relief fund or signing up to serve with NC Baptists on Mission and Samaritan’s Purse.
As we turn from immediate crisis response to the marathon of long-term support, we are encouraging the Carmel family to serve alongside two relief organizations with extensive experience who are already on the ground, Samaritan’s Purse and NC Baptists on Mission. If you are willing to go and serve on a day or overnight trip, fill out the form below and we will help you get registered.
SIGN UP TO GO + SERVESamaritan’s Purse is known for their disaster response all over the world and now the immense need is right in our backyard. Space is currently available to serve on a day trip or overnight trip (min. 2 nights). Teams are delivering supplies and doing recovery work like clearing debris and cleaning out homes.
NC Baptists on Mission already has large feeding units up and running that can feed several thousand people each day. They are also providing shower and laundry facilities, as well as teams that are digging homes out, clearing debris and tarping roofs. Due to the tremendous response, NC Baptists on Mission has placed a hold on taking new volunteers. Carmel is planning to form teams that can serve alongside NC Baptists when more teams are mobilized.
