Over 200,000 pounds of supplies donated have been flown and driven into hard hit areas by JAARS and other relief groups in the last 8 days. JAARS is no longer accepting donated relief supplies. As we transition to trusted, experienced relief organizations for long-term recovery efforts, we are deeply grateful for all who jumped in to provide for needs and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the face of so much devastation. You can continue to serve by signing up to serve with NC Baptists on Mission and Samaritan’s Purse.
As we turn from immediate crisis response to the marathon of long-term recovery support, we are encouraging the Carmel family to serve alongside two relief organizations with extensive experience who are already on the ground, NC Baptists on Mission and Samaritan’s Purse. If you would like to go and serve overnight or even on a day trip, fill out the form below and we will help you get registered.
SIGN UP TO GO + SERVENC Baptists on Mission already has large feeding units up and running in Boone, Marion and Arden that can feed several thousand people each day. They are also providing shower and laundry facilities, as well as teams in Boone, Marion, Hendersonville and others that are digging homes out, clearing debris and tarping roofs.
Samaritan’s Purse is known for their disaster response all over the world and now the immense need is right in our backyard. In addition to delivering supplies, recovery work like clearing debris and cleaning out homes, they also have a field hospital up in Linville.
