Jesus said, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life…” Moral truth ultimately finds its source in s “who,” not merely in a “what.” It is God’s nature and character that actually determine moral truth. He defines what is right and wrong, good and evil. The authority of scripture is derived directly from and founded in the very character and nature of God and represented in the flesh through Jesus Christ.

Sadly, our culture has moved far away from truth. Here is a snapshot of history:

1300-1500 The Renaissance shifted us from the glory of God to the glory of man.

1600-1700 The Enlightenment stated that God may have created, but He doesn’t

care anymore. Man no longer need to look upward, only inward.

1700-1800 The Industrial Revolution celebrated man’s ability to create; therefore,

man could look to himself for hope and guidance.

Charles Darwin told us that God was no longer needed to explain or understand

how the world – and humans – came to be. Human reason had replaced God as the object of modern man’s worship.

Tolerance is now the holy grail of our culture. In traditional tolerance, each person had the right to believe and behave differently without agreeing that he or she is right. Cultural tolerance means all truth is subjective, and therefore no individual truth claim should be judged or condemned as wrong.

We must remember that acceptance does not mean approval. We must LOVE.

2 Timothy 3:16 says that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

DOCTRINE AND CORRECTION relate primarily to BELIEF

INSTRUCTION AND REPROOF relate primarily to BEHAVIOR

So that…we are completed and matured FOR every GOOD WORK!

God’s word was given so you have a roadmap and understanding to live out your faith. Hearing the Word should lead to obedience out of a “want to”.
