Pastor Alex continued his series on “Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit” by pointing us to the fact that once we are in Christ, we are given spiritual gifts. We see these lists in 1 Corinthians 12, 14; 1 Peter 4, and Romans 12. Receiving spiritual gifts is a BIG deal because the gifts are used to advance the Kingdom of God. We receive the gifts from the Holy Spirit at conversion, and these gifts are a reflection of God’s grace. So, when you do not use your gift, you are withholding goodness and grace from the body. Remember, there is no correlation between giftedness and spiritual maturity. If you are born again, then you have a gift!

1. Everybody in Christ has one – 1 Cor 12

2. It is for the common good – 1 Cor 12:7

3. Gifts are used for equipping – Eph 4:8-12

4. Gifts build unity – Eph 4:13

5. You have to use them – 1 Peter 4:10

6. Be careful to use them in humility – Romans 12:1-3

7. Our gifts exalt God – 1 Peter 4:11
