2 Thessalonians

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS @ 1:15 – 2:45pm

In 2 Thessalonians, we will continue to be encouraged by Paul’s writing to the church at Thessalonica. This study will encourage weary believers and steady them with God’s unshakeable promises. Paul reminds the church that Christ’s return is certain and worth waiting for with faithful, everyday obedience. This study invites us to walk with hope, lean on God’s strength, and keep going even when the journey feels long. Homework will be about 45 minutes each week.

Adult Home Groups

Connect with God and others, share life’s joys and challenges, study the Bible and prayer together and find community in the comfort of a home group. Groups typically meet one evening during the week.

Carmel currently has home groups meeting in the following areas:

Allison/Hendrick

Sundays @ 11:00am, Room A244. We are a group of young marrieds/young families, with an older mentor couple. We share life with one another throughout the week, and enjoy some social gatherings throughout the year.

Childcare is available through Preschool, CarmelKidz  and Student Ministries.

Alwerdt/Goldman

Sundays @ 9:30am, Room A244. We are an intergenerational kinship of singles, couples and families who are tethered to God through authentic community.

Angel

Sundays @ 11:00am, Room D101. WEE Connect is a group of young married adults with preschool and elementary-aged children. We teach on various topics and through various books of the Bible applying the lesson to marriage, parenting and family. We connect with each other outside of class with social activities and serve together regularly at Charlotte Family Housing.

Arrowood/Womble

Sundays @ 9:30am, Room A218. The Journey is a community that seeks to live an authentic Gospel-centered life as we disciple one another, fellowship, and live life together. We consist of professionals and parents of children ranging from toddlers to teens. Peers facilitate various studies through a discussion-based approach. We truly value doing life together as we aim to connect outside of class to build relationships, and intentionally invest in one another, our church, and the greater community. Please join us if you are looking for encouragement in parenting, marriage, and your relationship with the Lord!

Awaken: The Meaning of Marriage

TUESDAY MORNINGS @ 9:30 – 11:00am

As women, our days spin around busy schedules, commitments and meeting the needs of others. Because we’re pulled in so many directions, we often put our most important earthly relationship, the relationship with our husbands, on the backburner. We operate on “auto-pilot”, missing the deep friendship and abundance that God intends in our marriages.

This winter, Awaken will focus on how we can practically breathe life back into our marriages. Armed with biblical principles and extensive research, we’ll uncover new insights into the unique way our husbands are wired and how we can discover the fulfillment God intends within the true meaning of marriage.

If the rhythm of life and the stress of circumstances have caused your marriage to take a back seat, there’s no better or more important time to focus here. Your reward will come in rediscovering who he is and who you are together, and in discovering that falling in love with Jesus first is the key to a marriage that flourishes. Marriage was never intended to be a fairy tale. It is so much richer than this…marriage is holy ground.

Join us in a Bible study community that brims with joy and life. Awaken is designed specifically for mothers with children, birth through young adults. Sunday @ 9:30am, Room A235. Our group is made up of singles, couples, and people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. We fellowship, study God’s word, and worship together by signing hymns.

Booker

Sundays @ 9:30am, Room S301/302. An intergenerational group of mostly married adults, but some singles. We interactively study God’s Word together and meet in smaller groups to pray and care for one another.
